Ingredients

4 large eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups whole milk
Ground nutmeg, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Step 2: Prepare the flan
In a bowl, beat the eggs until well beaten.
Add the powdered sugar, pure vanilla extract and salt to the beaten eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.
Add the whole milk little by little, stirring constantly to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Step 3: Fill the custard molds.
Pour custard mixture into individual custard ramekins or ramekins. You can use four cups of 6 ounces each or their equivalent.
Sprinkle a pinch of ground nutmeg over each flan, if desired. Nutmeg gives a pleasant aromatic touch to the flan.
