If you find a “bleach” stain on your underwear, you better know what it means.

Let us emphasize once again that there is no cause for concern in this regard before moving forward. Instead, it is a good indicator if you find the stains mentioned above on your underwear. As is well known, the pH level of a liquid or substance indicates how acidic or alkaline it is. However, a helpful tweet says:

“Now that everyone knows, it is completely normal to discover lighter stains on a woman’s underwear or panties due to the acidic nature of the vagina, with a pH range of 3.8 to 4.5. So I guess it’s time to abandon the idea that this is due to poor hygiene. In fact, a healthy vagina is one that can whiten the tissue.

According to Dr Vanessa MacKay of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the vagina has a natural secretory system that allows it to clean itself. It is protected by the good bacteria it contains.

According to the National Institutes of Health, the pH of the vagina typically ranges between 3.8 and 5.0, meaning it is quite acidic compared to the normally neutral pH level of 7.

Dr. MacKay continues:  “Disrupting the natural balance can lead to infections, but it is perfectly normal and healthy for women to have clear or white vaginal discharge.”
