The Windsors thought they would finally be at peace, after the last season of The Crown on Netflix in December 2023. This was a poor gauge of the general public’s interest in the behind-the-scenes of British royal life. According to GB News, Kate Middleton is even “terribly worried about the intrigues developed” in an upcoming television series. Called Royal Spin and written by Omid Scobie, the unofficial spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this fiction would tell the story of an American public relations consultant who gives up her political career in Washington to launch into communications at Buckingham Palace.
And if the Princess of Wales fears this series, whose release date is still unknown, it is in particular because it could tarnish the reputation of the family, already fragile since the revelations of Meghan and Harry on Netflix and in the autobiography of the youngest of Charles III. With The Crown already, the Crown has suffered from the staging of key passages and the controversies that have marked its history, over the last decades.
